Changing color of glass eyes

Just wondering if there's a way to clean the paint from a tohicon 123 bird eye to repaint...I want a slighlty different color than what I've purchased...tried lacquer thinner and acetone...don't want to try scratching it off...any suggestions?

You're out of luck. That's backed on and is actually part of the make up of the eye. I once used a dremel with a diamond bit and was able to only scratch away a very small portion. Replace the eyes.

Paint your own

Call Tohickon and ask for blank eyes. They will come with only the pupil painted. Use your airbrush and good reference and paint your own.
A little tip: after you paint and seal the eyes put them on a cookie sheet and pop them in the oven at 200 for about 15 minutes.

...to George, figured I was fighting a losing battle trying to get the paint off....Paul...thanks so much for the "extra" tip, I wouldn't have thought of that! Thank you both.
