When skinning a bird to use an artificial head do you skin it around the beak or still make the incision on the back of the head then then the beak. thanks.

What purpose would splitting the back of the head serve? Ducks bills open wider than their heads when forced and that's the entire purpose of artificial heads: to eliminate splitting the head skin.
