Snow Goose Season

Submitted by Easton on 2/15/06 at 11:32 PM. ( ) 69.178.193.86

Hey the North Dakota snow goose season opens up this Saturday. Haven't seen any round here yet though. It's cold and we have 2 feet of snow. Any one in South Dakota, Nebraska, etc... know where the snow goose flocks are right now? They should be coming north right about now and would like to know where the huge flocks are staying at this moment. Thanks.

has a migration map that is updated by hunters. just narrow it down and look for "light geese", and any field reports that are recent will show up.

Im a goose hunter also. Im in Southern MN.

It seems that the Rain water basin is filling up with geese. I have heard of a few small flocks being spotted near Yankton. I would imagine these are some early scout type flocks taht fly north in the morning and end up flying 100 miles back south in the afternoon.

Hey guys I need snow geese wingbones

This response submitted by Roy Wilson of Custom Wingbone Callers on 2/22/06 at 9:22 AM. ( rwilson@aplus.com ) 198.153.25.212

I make custom wingbone turkey calls and I have found the smallest bone in the snow goose wing makes the best mouthpiece for my calls. I need everyone I can get my hands on and will buy or swap for em if I can.

Thanks

Roy
