one more corn cob grit question

I have been reading a few recent posts about corn cob grit. I also looked at a pet store and they had it, but it is not very "fine". more like cat litter. If it is this size will that harm a birds feathers when being tumbled? basically, how fine should it be or does it matter?

a store that sells sand blasting media. As for 2040 corn cob blasting media in a 40lb bag. The price should be in the $20 range. Or order the stuff from a supplier.

Thats the stuff you need.

I purchased a large bag from Van Dykes, and it works great. I do not know who else carries it, it seems kinda hard to find though. I used to save all of my oak saw dust from work, never again will I ever go back to that after using cob.
