OPEN WINGS

I want to mount a goose that is open winged and "locked up" every time I try to skin the wings down to the tip, the skin gets turned inside out and the feathers make the skin to "full" to go down all the way. I need details on how to work the skin all the way to the wing tips before the skin gets dry and brittle. thanks for any help!

Just wet the skin

If the skin is becoming too dry while skinning, just wet it with water. With a little patience inverting the wings of geese is not so difficult. However, if you want to mount a flying bird it may be better to make an incision along the underside of the wings an get the meat out. It's a little more sewing work, but this way the feathers stay attached to the bone and in the correct place.

I still cut that last joint open from outside

I go to the "wrist" but from there on is an open incision sewn up after the meat is removed.
