I want everyone to know that you can gift migratory birds and allow the person receiving the bird to pay shipping, only exact shipping not a cent more, To many people saying you can't allow them to pay shipping, Well I asked my state warden and he told me it is legal and also he checked with the feds and they ok'd it.

Bret, did you get a NAME of that person?

You see, I too called TWICE. I got one answer one time and another the next time. Take my word for it, this practice IS NOT SPELLED OUT IN THE 50CFR series. Many of us think that common sense will prevail, but with bureaucrats, common sense isn't "common" at all.

Skinning?

Is it ture that once you skin a bird that it doesn't count against your poss. limit? and if so would that be a little safer to gift that way?

I Don't Think So

If that were the case you could sit in your duck blind and blast ducks and geese all day long, skinning as fast as you retrive them. But I'm not a bird man so someone who knows the federal regs could give a better answer. TR

I'm just saying

Theres a certain point in the process that it doesn't count in the poss. limit, at that point i think it would be less of a hassel when gifting it, law wise.

The way

I was told, it counts til it's mounted. BP
