Hey Jeff, I added another response to the previous submission regarding wiring wings but I didn't know if youd be going back to read it so I thought I'd try a new submisison.

I wanted to address your recommendation about using a cordless drill and share what happend to me. Maybe you could provide some helpful advise.

I almost always use cotton batting to fill out my birds while I sew them up. (BTW, I'm still relativly a newbee at this) While I was using my cordless drill the wire I was using ended up getting caught on the cotton batting. Unknowing to me it was wrapping it around the wire on the inside of the carcass. The next thing I knew I had a huge rip in the opposite side of the carcass when I exited. Ended up doing more sewing. Has that ever happened to you?

I since quit using the drill and just use my hands. I also hold a small block of wood on the opposite side until I can feel the point of the wire coming through.

Pat

I get my wires in before I add any batting to fill out the wing area.
I forgot to post on the previous though ,you need to make sure you know where your wire is so you dont wrap up the feathers and twist the hide up on the wire.
