How do you kill a pheasant and what do you do to them before eating?

you can only kill pheasants during season. The only good eating part is the breast. You can try breading and frying, but they are tougher than chicken. Quite a few people I know put it in a crock pot with some cream of celery, chicken or mushroom soup and let it cook for at least 4 hours. That makes it real tender.

1) 12ga, 4 or 6 shot. 2) Cook the parts you want to eat, throw away or mount the remainder. Save the tail feathers......

use a thick heavy niddle and have a person hold the bird and insert it at the base of the skull and wiggle it around it kills the bird fast and dosent mess it up.

I haven't figured out what she's really asking. One thing though, I'd NEVER kill a bird by injecting. Electrocution is the ONLY way and it's spelled out in the archives. Birds never quiver and never suffer with it.

What's

If you are hunting them you better be in a open season or on a perserve. Use a 12 or 20 gage with 4 or 6 shot. Skin, cook, eat.

eat the whole bird if youre not going to taxi it, i would soak it overnight with an acidic juice(lemon) or what ever else you can think of b/c some are a little tough. if you are really picky you can pressure cook for about 5 min this will make them just as tender as chicken.then bread(garlic, season salt etc.),deepfry or fry in a pan or put in the oven with some bacon stripes over the breast so it doesnt dry out add some hot sauce and your ready to eat

enjoy

you can probably kill it with a

rock, or a baseball bat, or a golf club, tire iron, cinder block, anvil, or similar typed object. depends on how mad you are at it. good luck, let us know how it worked out.

This response submitted by Patrick L. on 3/16/06 at 2:29 PM. ( ) 69.95.138.217

know if it was better..... it was actually pretty stu.. nevermind. whats with you and all this killing? i would have to say you have no business "catching" or killing pheasents if you dont know that hunting seasons are in the fall for pheasant.

it depends on the state

This response submitted by jimi on 3/16/06 at 4:58 PM. ( ) 65.29.2.231

you are in while catching them. actually I think the only way to get a wild pheasant is to kill it. they do not allow catching of wild birds. look up the state hunting regulations and they will tell you when the season and bag limit is. just out of curiosity what are these pheasants for sara?

well
