I got too far ahead of myself and forgot to install my hanger on a flying snowgoose before I sewed it up...doh! Could someone please give me an idea or two how to securely install this after the fact. I might note it's a wall mount as opposed to hanging so the body will be close to the wall in kind of a "side swipe" sort of flight. Also, I've had a heck of a time finding a reference photo of ANY geese in this pose, even mounts. Any help for either, I would be grateful.
Thanks in advance, Keith

On most of my large flying birds I wait until they are sewed up then take my heavy wire for the hanger and cut a small slot in the "armpit" feathers of the wing that is away from the wall. I then push my sharpened wire thru the body into this slot. I then bend it in a 90 then 180 and push it back into the body and sew or glue up the slot. On big birds like turkeys, I'll do this twice for balance and support.
Use a #8 size wire, bend it into a "U" shape. Make the bend square,
about 2 inches across. Cut the ends to equal length, and sharpen both
ends. Drill 2 holes in whatever you want to hang the bird on, and push the wires through the holes.
Then, just force he wires into the bird at what ever angle you want,
and hang it.I have mounted flying turkeys this way, and it works fine.
Thank you for both of your suggestions. Now the breast is dripping fat so I guess I'll have to stick it in the oven for a while. Anyone for "goose cracklings". LOL
