I've been reading a whole lot about how to clean mounts that have grease or fat on them, but what I've got is a little chick that I've already mounted, still all down and it just won't fluff back up! I've done a couple chicks already, no problems, but this guy is completely matted, except for his head, which I did first and is fine. I may have gotten borax on him while mounting, but I've rinsed the whole thing a couple times and it's not working. Should I wash with dawn and then rinse really well, or should I try some sort of mineral spirits or brake cleaner. There was basically no fat to speak of on this thing, so I don't think that is the issue.
