Hoping someone can help, I bought a couple artificial rocks from one of the suppliers, small ones for a bird mount..What is the best way to secure the bird to the rock? I was thinking of drilling a hole thru the rock for the leg wire, bending the wire back then using bondo from the underside to secure it in place? Is that what most people do? These rocks are hard so I don't think that I will be able to staple them like I do on wood bases.. Would epoxy be better than bondo?
Thanks for any help..

the good guys on here is to you zap a gap and drizzle borax on it baam its done
but besure you have it where you want it cuz it turns rock hard
i use some kick it first then glue then drizzle the borax to it.
hold it in place for a little while to make sure it holds good
Since birds usually need painting after drying, you'd obviously want to remove them for that job. Drill the holes slightly oversized. Keep the wires straight on the bird until you go to put it on the rock. With needlenosed pliers, bend the wire about half way with just a slight little bend. Slip down about half inch and bend it the other way. This allows the wire to act as a friction lock to your mount. After you've painted, you can still use the superglue to hold it in place.
george that's something that i never thought of and sounds like a real good idea, i will have to start doing that also. this way the bird won't move around as much when trying to get the right angle when glueing
thanks
use a piece of plastic bag on the rock and run the leg wires through it and into the rock.the feet will still take the shape of the rock and injection fluid wont get on it either.once the foot is dry, paint and the plastic can be snipped and pulled out from under the painted foot.
Thanks for the help..
