Making bodies for wild birds

Folks, I have an opportunity to work on a wide collection of wild birds for a college. It is a real learning opportunity for me. I've done a raven and an owl, but only soft-stuffed them. My next project will be a blue heron. How do you make bodies for wild birds?

you have options.you can wrap them out of excelcior,newspaper or my fav is to carve mine out of a dense poly foam.you can buy it in block form or mix and pour into a box.if you want easier buy your forms from a supply house.good luck
