Where to find practice ducks or geese?

I am a junior in high school and have been slowly getting through the different steps of taxidermy. I am looking to get more practice on a duck or goose, since I have only done one. My understanding is that it is illegal to sell or do anything with waterfowl, so my question is how does one go about getting these birds to work on if they do not hunt them? Thanks in advance for your replies.

Mike! You can see if anyone on here will gift you some extra birds they have. It is customary for the reciever to pay shipping only. See if you can find a local hunter who will gift you some of his ducks and geese. That way you save on shipping.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong

but... I think I heard that paying for shipping is still considered money transfer for migratory birds which means it's illegal.

Can someone point me in the direction of where that is in print? I would love to read it for myself.

Thanks!

Andy
