super glue on feathers

Submitted by Pat-m on 3/31/06 at 4:23 PM. ( ) 160.136.109.109

Afternoon all. I ended up w/super glue on the back feathers of a Pintail mount (my own). I bought super glue remover and followed the directions. It still did not come off.

It's only three small spots.

Any recommendations?

I read some time ago that you could use acetone or nail polish remover on a Q tip. I haven't actually tried it but it might be worth a shot. Good luck. Let us know if it worked

Acetone will dissolve superglue, apply a little drop to feathers and rub with q tip, gently. Keep doing this until the glue is removed, it will take a little time just let the acetone do its job.

Thanks
