Good day all. Here I am with another question.
A month or so ago I mounted a pair of Hooded Merganzers (hen and drake) for myself. My plan was to create a water habitat scene for them.
The bird mounts came out great but now a month later they, and my shop, stinks to high heavens. I can't move them into my game room smelling like this.
I cleaned and wire wheeled good. I then soaked them in a degreaser and soaked them again in Tru Tan Bird Tan the same as I've done for ducks I've mounted, so I'm pretty sure it's not that. They just STINK!
Is there anything out there I can get? Was there another step in the process I should have done exclusively for a Merganzer?
Are these destined for the garbage can? I'd hate to throw them away. They came out real good (for a newbie).

The smell is in the greese. I hope you degreesed well.
Thanks Tony. Thought I did a good job, but evidently I didn't.
Is there anything I can do at this point?
