oils leaking through feathers

I mounted my first duck about two weeks ago, and it turned out pretty good but now on the belly where i made the incision there is oil or grease starting to leak through. I thought i degreased the bird pretty well but i guess maybe not. Is there anything i can do to save the mount or is it a lost cause. I thought about giving it a little longer and taking some dawn soap and water in a spray bottle and trying to clean it off with a toothbrush. Also im affraid it will get bugs. I havent seen any yet, but i dont know how long it takes. The mount doesnt really smell bad so im not sure how bad it will get. Any advice would be appreciated. Hopefully its not just u screwed up pitch it, thanks.

Sadly there's really nothing permanent that can be done. You might try opening your incision and putting a folded paper towel inside, but it would be just temporary if not completely useless. I'm afraid you're going to have to use this one as a lesson plan for your next one.

Thats pretty much what i figured u would say, oh well it was good practice anyway. I guess ill just keep it around as long as it doesnt smell or get bugs and pitch it if it does. thanks
