Ive got my first turkey all skinned out and frozen. I was wondering approximately how long will it take to thaw enough to be able to invert it. I would like to try to work on removing the "sponge" gunk while it is still a little frozen, as I have heard it is a little easier, and need to know about how long I need to remove it from the freezer in advance. thank.

Once that 22 pound bird is skinned out and you put him in the freezer, it will thaw out in a short time, 1 hour or so.
Working the sponge gunk will get it warmed up nicely, then you can take the wire brush to it big time. Wash and re wash several times, too.
1 hr? Where, in the oven? If I set a skinned bird out the night before It's still not completely thawed in the AM. Must be pretty warm in your shop.(Or maybe cold in mine)
