All of your questions where answered. If you have never skipped the gas process the you can't argue the point. Let me ask you this, after a duck dinner would you take your plates, siverware, ect. and wash it in white gas? A duck skin is no different.
I was also tought to use gas , after reading some of the comments on this forum I tried a bird without it. The results where great, I have refined my wash process and my birds brilliant.
I don't have the smell, cautions and dangers of gas.
skip the gas process next time, it is worth a shot. If you don't like the results go back to it. You won't be able to tell the difference, and will thank us all later.
