IM IN THE MIDDLE OF MOUNTING A CANADIAN GOOSE FLYING. I WANT TO SUSPEND IT FROM THE CEILING BUT WHAT WOULD BE THE EASIEST WAY TO DO THIS WITHOUT A PLAQUE. IT WILL BE POSED AS IF IT WAS LANDING

Run a wire through the body and make a small loop in the top end where it exits the body. Use this as a balance point and then run monofilliment line from wire to small eye bolt in the ceiling of where you want to mount it. If you have a Bass-Pro,Cabela's or Sportsman's Warehouse near you-check out their landing flock of Canada's. That will give you and idea of how to do this. The wire through the body should come out between the wings.
The wire is the key and getting it to come out at the balance point is also. I did one using a sharpened wire, run it through the back & out the chest & then make a hook and pull in back in so it is tight. Then make your small loop for the monofilament to attch at the back of the goose.
If you don't want your goose spinning in the breeze, you need a second loop above the tail. Then trapeze your monofilament so that the bird doesn't bounce and twist in the wind.
or tilt, let the wire protrude about 2 inches out of the back, then make an eye in it. You will be surprised how you can orient the goose by bending the wire in different directions. After you are satisfied with the pose, do as George said and tie a second line to prevent spinning.
Brandon, I did a white fronted goose like that. It came out great but my wire loop must have been a little to far back so it hung a little to flat. I took a piece of a decoy lead weight and buried it in the tail feathers. That brought the rear down nicely.
Just an FYI if that happens to you.
