Would you recommend this motor to use as a bird flesher :
PRECISION BENCH TOP TAPPING MACHINE WITH 1/4 HP MOTOR
It is a single phase 115 volt with a chuck. it has the same rpm as a normal bird flesher,1725, but i almost think it would be too strong and too dangerous on those flimsy birds. Thanks for your imput.

too strong and too dangerous.
Get rpms down to about 1000. I built 2 and they both work great.
If you already have the motor, why not use it. I have a motor(not sure of the rpm's 'cause the label was missing) that I mounted into the bottom of a large plastic storage tote from wal mart and turned it on it's side. When I was wiring it all up, I installed a dimmer switch for a light between the outlet and the motor. If I am doing a diver or a goose or any bird with tough skin, I turn it all the way up. When I'm doing wood ducks, teal, etc., I turn it so far down that too much pressure from the skin will stall the motor. Just my 2 cents, but it works for me.
