MOUNTING A GOOSE TODAY NEED HELP

Hey guys i am mounting a flying snow today, but 3 of the main feathers in the wings are destroyed. i have a spare wing in the freezer, and was wondering how do i replace them ? do i just superglue them ? do i wait till i have the mount drying to pluck them and replace them ? please send me info thanks ! -Mitch

I have done the same operation you mentioned by taking the spare feathers and cutting the quill off close to the point. I then match it to the feather to be replaced and cut it at the exact same point provided the length is the same. I then take a wire or even a wood toothpick and glue it inside the wing feather butt, leaving 1/2 of the wire or toothpick sticking out. Once the glue or epoxy has set, glue the replacement in place by sliding it down on the protruding wire. Make sure the feathers are the same length and that the smaller feathers on the wing will cover the repair. Good luck!
