I completed a goose over the weekend. I had a hard time getting the wing feathers set. I have no problem with gamebirds but it was my first goose and it was tough. Can anyone throw me any pointers? What do you use to hold the feathers in place?

First off, did you invert the wing to take all the meat out? If so, try an incision down the inside of the wing, metacarpal, and remove the meat between the two bones that way. It will allow the feather roots to remain stuck to the bone. Fill your void with epox or clay, then stich it up.
