flying pheasants

Submitted by terry on 8/21/06 at 10:20 AM. ( ) 64.12.116.133

I normally mount my flying pheasants on a piece of driftwood and leave the wire show about 3 or 4 inches this gives me enough room for the wing on the wallside to extend out some. I have a customer that wants several mounted on a wood panel without the wire showing. I am trying to think of the best pose any help will be appreciated thanks Terry

best to incorporate some habitat and use it to ancor your birds.

Habitat looks nice and works wonders for hiding wires. I will use anything from moss to wheat. You can also use the natural protrusions of the drift as anchor points, that way you get some clearance. Good luck, Mark www.natures-reflections.com

Driftwood !

One of my biggest gripes, is I have never seen a piece of driftwood and a pheasant together in the wild.
I have been mounting a lot of my birds on a piece of bark or fence post, and using barb wire in the mount,I have been able to camouflage the mounting wire real well.
There is a way to mount your birds using a heavy wire in the wing attaching your bird to your bark or (driftwood) by the top of the wing.
I do not have one mounted by the wing method at the present but I do have one with the barb wire if you would like a photo of it may be on my web, if not e-mail me. The e-mail is on the web. Don
