I recently read that the ingrentiants in Lysol have changed and that it will now cause feather slippage, I use to use it mixed with water to spray on bird skins and also on the exselsior for wrapped bodies, any ideas on what to use now?

Years ago, Lysol (in the brown bottle) had TRACE amounts of phenol that bird people assumed to have magic qualities. Phenol has been removed from Lysol for nearly 35 years now and the product is nothing more than a strong soap. Soaps are alkali and with a pH that high, feathers will fall out as it is alkali that breaks down the protein of the skin that holds them in.

Thanks for the info George, like I said the other day I have been away from taxidermy for 30 years so I guess I will slip up some sorry for the outdated question. I was also interested in if you use a substitute in your water spray. Terry

I don't use anything but water or Windex

Surprisingly many of those things we did years ago have proven to be unnecessary in this modern era. I can only imagine the "culture shock" you're enduring after having been away this long.
