I have done many pheasants and recently done one that has a smell around one of the wings. Will this leave after complete drying or is there an issue that will cause problems. I boraxed as usual. Thanks Ken

Ken , the wings should be free of all flesh and wing and leg bones drilled and cleaned.Flesh bird on wire wheel ,wash in dawn ,rinse,soak in thinner 30 min,tumble, borax,then mount! there should be no smell what so ever ! good luck !
Pheasants have quite a bit of meat just past the wrist, depending on the pose I will either cut from above and remove the meat, cut from below and remove the meat, or just inject with preservz-it.
