Taxidermy on the History Channel

Has anybody seen this special? They have mixed the "art) of preserving human bodies with taxidermy. After watching this show, somebody who does not know much about taxidermy would think they could have their mother mounted. I think taxidermy is interesting enough without getting into all this crazy stuff.

Gunther von Hagen's plastination was a little far fetched to be included in "taxidermy", however, at one time we felt the same way about freeze drying. Though he strikes an eerily macabre figure, his work has revolutionized the medical communities way of teaching anatomy. Someone later stole the fetus out of that pregnant woman's womb at a display in Atlanta, I think. The "sickest" portion was where he had his closest "friend" plastinated and on display.

Don't Get Any Ideas George
