Governor Granholm has officially signed HB 5192. It contains many changes but the most important one was lowering the hunting age for kids.
The Legislature website lists that HB 5192 has now been established as a state law effective July 10th. Thanks to everyone who called in to Governor Granholms office and encouraged her to say yes. The sport of hunting will live or die by this generation coming up. The younger we can involve them in the tradition of hunting the better. Here's hoping this year that when you take to the woods - you'll take the kids with you.

I think Pennsylvania did something similar recently.
The bums in our state (NY) have tabled our bill, so it doesn't look like this year either that 14 yr. olds can hunt deer with a gun...
Where has Granholm been the last three years? Now she is showing up all over for some reason, is there an election coming up? Hummmmmmmm
