High Guys and Gals of Wyoming. I have a party of 4 going to Douglas Wyoming on Sept.22-28 for some prairie goat hunting and we would like to find a local or two that have some prairie dogs that they might like to get rid of. If any of you know of anybody in or around Douglas who might be receptive of this, please e-mail me direct and let me know. I would very much appreciate any info. Thanks.

personally I think its wrong to kill things just for the target practice and to watch them explode. If a rancher has a problem and wants an area cleaned out a little that is different, buts its getting rarer lately. The Prairie dog has been in decline throughout much of Wyoming in the last few years due to plagues.

Another hunter condemning the actions...

of another hunter. That's just great! PETA feeds on these comments. If it isn't illegal in your state who are you to be the judge of what's right and wrong here? Shooting them is a tool for controlling populations and it is great practice too. I know lots of people who think baiting bears in Canada is unethical because it's not fair chase. I know some who feel baiting deer in the states should be illegal, or running bears with hounds, or,...well, the list goes on.

I know a small time farmer that kills every coon he can during the peak growing season because they are so destructive to his sweet corn. Maybe that's unethical too, being the coons should share in God's bounty. He can't get anyone to trap them during regular season because their value is about worthless.

I think Dal asked for information from a rancher that is having a problem with them or that might want to get rid of some of them dogs.

I'd rather see someone shoot them than totally revert back to the poison thing.

I think it is wrong to kill an animal just to leave it lay; unless there is a very good or reasonable reason such as mice in the shop or a unless there is dang good reason such as severe land damage, etc. AND alot of Prairie dogs populations in Wyoming now have the plague and are in natural decline and fact along with my opinion as a Wyoming land owner and taxidermist. sorreeeey, not.

I agree with Jim

Well Jim, see what I mean about many people or most people don't understand the deeper things in life; such as LIFE ITSELF. ALL THINGS LIVING have a purpose. ...But don't push me too far on that last statement.

Most people will say, "who cares?" So I just smile and let it go...
