I have a deer skull that I found and want to make a skull mount with it. It is very bleached and chalky. My questions are as follows:
Is there any rebuilding of the antlers/skull needed and if so, what is used for this?
Is there any type of antler stain to get the color back to the original/normal colors?
So far I have soaked the skull in hydrogen proxide and it seems to have taken the chalkness away from the skull. I assume next I need to seal coat it. Any suggestions what to use for doing that?
Thanks.
Darrell
Use the search button on the left. Type antler stain and you should see alot of good info.
Darrel, try Old English furniture polish.
