Have a short haired deer that I'd like to mount for competition. What is the best incision for a short haired deer? Would using dental floss help to hide the seam and is it strong enough? Also what would be the best material to use to blend the interior of the nose where the skin meet the manikin?
I have recently began using spider wire to stich my capes. You can pick it up at any store that sells fishing supplies. It is a braided type of fishing line that is supper fine. The 20 lb test I use is about the same diameter as dental floss.Makes an excellent stitch line.
hey dave , the best incision for a short haired deer for a compitition is no incision. just pry down the the skin around the antler burr and cut the antlers off. then tube skin it. then make your antlers detachable.
