I frequently read posts about "rut, pre-rut, etc." whitetail mannikins. I see that McKenzie includes "medium swell, full swell, heavy swell, etc" in their ads. Few others do. I use a lot of Buckeye Mannikins, and wonder how one is supposed to tell if a mannikin is for pre-rut or full rut or "what-rut?" Is is by looking at the B/C difference? I have seen capes that are 20" at the throat and 21" over the atlas. Can I assume that's a pre-rut form? And can I assume a 20 x 26 is a full rut form? And what about a 20 x 22 form? I've got a 21 x 27 cape coming soon, and SHEESH...that's sure going to be a swell one...eh?
