I got a 152 inch 8 point in the other day, and apparently the guy who killed this buck was really scared he was going to cut a hole in the cape. It was covered in meat! I mean covered! So, I got an idea. Im sure lots of you folks have tried this, but who knows maybe not. I got out my large electric fillet knife, put the cape on the beam, and in no time the cape was fleshed! I mean FLESHED! Ive never tried this before, and I was really impressed at the time I saved this way. It actually does a good job on shaving the cape too. It no substitute for a good round knife, but for someone on a tight budjet it may be worth trying. Be careful not to submerge the knife or get it too wet though. That could really light you up! You all may have tried this but if you havent you may wanna!NG
