Muley antlers are typically larger and measure a bit more from button center to button center. The blacktail antler size ranges in size from north to south along it's range. The sitka blacktail from the north end of the range have smaller racks than does the columbian blacktail. Some sitka racks I have seen resemble small whiterail's in form and design.
One basic rule of thumb is that if the inside spread is greater than 20 inches, chances are it is a mule deer. The bottom line is that aside from a few regional distinctive features, you are at the mercy of the honesty of the sellor/possessor.
The last is that any rack that comes from an area outside the range of the blacktail should be suspect.
thanks for your valuable insight
what the hell theres no bloody differance
