I am in the process of monting my first whitetail Deer, and just got my capes back from the tannery. Now what? How long do i need to rehydrate the capes before i can start working with them? The forms are ready I just need to fix some holes and work on the facial areas.
Any Advice would be greatly appreciated.

usually the tannery would send rehydrating instructions with the cape. i would give the tannnery a call and ask them for it. as for the holes it depends where it is i would rather pin it then sew it. take your time dont rush, step back once in awhile and admire what your doing also have some reference around. its not that difficult at all, as long as you took good measurements and ordered the right mannikin. good luck.
