Number one, you need to have a carcass tag or possession tag in NY state, because the animal was "harvested" or salvaged out of its open season. Also, this tag is available at the officer's discretion, at the time of the accident. As you can see, so far, not so good! Sometimes an officer WILL make an exception for a budding young taxidermist, but dont expect that. The other thing is this, from MY experience. Every single guy who walks in and sees that display is going to wonder why the neck is so skinny, etc. They just dont know the animal as well in this season. Keep your display work limited to the HUNTER'S appeal, if thats who your customers will be. See what I mean?
