I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to create a nice finished look on the back of a deer head mount. I have been stapling the hide on back, but it doesn't look really nice. Even though it is not seen once it is hung on the wall, I have seen some mounts that the back is done really nice and stapled or epoxied or something. Am I making any sense. Some that I have seen just look so much more professional.
I anyone can help, I would appreciate it.

You can staple some felt of any other thing over it. Make it like a pedestal mount with the hair flowing past and fleck stone it. But make sure you charge for it it is your time. But then again ask your customer if you tell them you charge extra to finish the back to look real proffessional they will say no one sees it anyways let it go. Why waste you time.
This one's been discussed in LENGTH several times and you can get dozens of ideas from these archives.
you keep it up george you will train somebody someday! By the way are there any how to topics that have not been discussed in the archives, we should probably just shut the message board down and just let everyone use the archives that way if you are to old and grumpy or just to lazy to reply to someones questions you dont have to put out any effort!
Though the "anonymous" writers like me HAVE been discussed, they still continue to take up valuable space in the archives. But just for slips and grins, taxidermy has had more improvements in the past 20 years than it did in the last 2000. It continues to evolve and IF the forum just got new ideas and variations and people actually DID use the Archives, think how much those no named nitwits might learn. I guess you should write and ask Ken to delete the Archives since "no one like you" ever uses them.
oh so i guess you must fall into the grumpy old man catagory
have a nice day
nit wit
