I never tried the alcohol method and quite frankly never heard of it. I don't see how it would kill the ticks. The way I deal with these nasty little boogers is, when I get a cape in that is infested I spray it down with tickspray. Cape it out as fast a possible and put it in a plasticbag. Then before I tie it shut I respray the inside of the bag and put it in the freezer for a couple of days before I'm going to flesh it. Seems to work good, never had a living tick on them after that treatment.

While skinning out deer capes this past seaoson I was really getting ate up by ticks. We used to use flea and tick killer but this can get a little expensie. The boss told me to try lacquer thinner on the little critters. Boy did it work and did not hurt the capes.
