On the last deer head I mounted I colored the hide paste with flesh and a bit of gill red paint before applying it to the earliner. Now that the mounted ears have dried, they are too dark and too red. I never thought the the coloring would show through so much. How can I tone the color down some?

I use Alzarian Crimson Artist oils. Just a touch enoungh to color the hide glue/epoxy, by touch I use the point of a straight pin is enough.
Use white paint in your airbrush and mist the paint into the ears
until the desired tone is reached. PatrickR
