Cartliage removal for eppley ear liners

Submitted by J.Crayton on 01/20/2003. ( )

I have got a deer in full velvet to do and I want to use eppley ear liners to get alot of detail but the ear liners have the inner ear molded in them and I don't know how much of the cartliage I need to remove to get them to fit properly. Any help would be appreciated

Near the cartilage bumps

Remove it down to the inner cartilage detail bumps (sorry can't think of the correctly anatomical term). Blend it back later w/ Apoxie Sculpt and highlight to correct color. You could get the liners with butts and you the natural inner ear detail.

I remove all of it

On the buttless liners, I cut off the tip of the peg/ear canal and then tuck the ear skin down through. On the 2 piece, remove it all and use the inner ear detail to wrap around the outside so the inner ear can sandwich it against the liner. You Liquid Fast Set from Epo-Grip and you're done in a flash.
