Dry tanned cape measurements

When you have measurements taken on a flat tanned cape, do you order the form to the exact measurements or can you get a slight stretch from the cape? How about a salted cape?

You MUST rehydrate

NEVER, EVER take any measurements off a tanned hide until it has been rehydrated and stretched. You simply cannot measure either a dry hide or a salted one correctly.

After Rehydrating?

After rehydrating, stretching and measuring, is it ok to let the tanned cape air dry or does it need to be frozen? I assume it will need to be rehydrated again for mounting.

Do NOT allow to dry

You're asking for trouble with they dry, wet, dry idea. Once it's rehydrated, it should be frozen and as soon as the form comes in, mounted to prevent hair loss or the cape dry rotting.
