Fleshing with a Pressure Washer

Submitted by JOHN on 10/02/2003. ( ) 68.154.141.223

Does anyone know about fleshing deer hides with a pressure washer? I have heard of it, and that it takes about 3000 psi. I would like to know if a 2500 psi p-washer would work. I would like to have more information if anyone has any....thanks, John

Believe it or not, but I bought a cheap 1600 psi pressure washer from Lowe's. You know, to wash the house, car, and so on. I decided to try it on a whitetail cape, and it pealed right off. It took about 30 minutes. For $107, I thought this wasn't bad. I still prefer the good ol' fleshing machine. And yes, I have used a 3500 psi washer on capes before. Good Luck

There are those that'll prefer a benchgrinder and a wire wheel to do an entire deerhide in approx 30 minutes also.
