I recently took a deer cape from a customer that had took this deer to another taxidermist. It was already skinned off the head. I am not sure how long he left the hide out, but when I started to do the final fleshing the hair on the face and the neck was slipping bad.
What do you recommend to tell the customer so that I don't look bad.
I would appreciate any information anyone might have with this problem.

and have him/her come in and see it first hand. It is totally not your fault and a majician couldn't save it once the hair is falling out of it. Hopefully your customer signed a contract with a disclaimer pertaining to hair slippage.
