Depending on how bad and how big a area, also was it a late season cape that had alote of thick dence hair or some bare skin from early season cape. You can sometimes get away with useing a little fungleside sealer misted on then be able to paint and blend in as you paint around the rest the eye.But if you have lost alote of hair and it really shows you would problly have to get a new cape.Maybe someone else has some ideas for large notedble hair loss. good luck.

Does the slippage appear all around the eye? If it does there isn't a whole lot to be done with this. Some bucks when they are rutting...really get into it and hardly ever sleep due to chasing does at all times. And they tend to lose quite a bit of hair around the eyes. When you mount this deer...the only thing you can do...if you are using this cape is to minimize the area around the eyes after it is mounted. Use a pin and go around each eye pushing the hide toward the eyeball. Do this without disturbing your work around the eye. You also have to do this at least twice a day every day until you can't move it. Slow down the drying time by putting a plastic bag over the head. If you are using epoxy glue...you are screwed...once it sets its there. good luck.
