I have 3 whitetail skulls I have finished up whitening and sealing after cleaning with my beetles.I want to mount them to the nice wooden skull panels in the taxid. catalogs but they are so brittle and delicate I don't know if putting screws into the base (pallet) area and foramen area would be a good idea.I dont think glue would give a strong enough hold, how do you go about attachment of skulls to wooden bases?

it sounds like you over whitened the skulls to the point of being chalky and brittle, is this correct? If you used chlorox bleach for the whitening process you will pay the price....forever. It seems like that stuff never stops the breakdown process. How to attach...do the best you can at this point.
We use Hydrogen Peroxide, 35%, for whitening, after the bugs clean the skulls, plus other procedures if you want to write again, and the bones stay absolutely strong, permanent and absolutely white, with no residual effects or chalking. By using this whitening type of process we run screws through the back of the panel into the rear of the skull for attachment, and it is strong. Write if you want to talk more about this.
I bondo a wood block to the skull and fasten screws thru panel into the wood block. Can paint or stain block to match panel. Toggle bolts will work, too. Drill thru skull and they tighten up just like putting into sheetrock.
No they are not chalky or that brittle, I guess I made it sound that way, I used the peroxide you talked about, never bleach! I just wanted a strong way to mount them.I will try the screws and maybe the bondo too.Thank you
