Polyester resin vs. tooling resin

I was wondering which resin would work better for bondo ears. Ive seen the Joe Coombs articles and his ears look great. Ive used poleyester off and on through the years and some of the ears seem to curl a little, and some come out pretty nice. I turn my ears to the very edge , clean with laquer thinner or acetone, use a stout ruffer to rough the cartlige. I see in the Coombs catalog he sells tooling resin, so i was wondering if that is maybe the way to go?

Larry , tooling resin is a resin used for making molds . This is usually vinyl ester and is stronger than regular polyester resin so the molds last longer . It is also what some boat builders use as the first layers in large boats as it protects them better . Rick
