Ok guys Im having a problem getting the cape over the mannequin where the ear butts on the form are. The neck of the cape just gets real tight around this area because its a lot bigger than the actual neck of the deer. My Y incision is only around 3 inches at the tail is it maybe too short? Should I lengthen the Y incision tail to ease in the sliding of the cape on the form? Please inform.
Thanks

I assume you mean trying to bring the edges together in the Y incision. The length of the Y incision shouldn't matter. First, it sounds like you are not ordering the correct mannikin. You can get by ordering 1 or maybe 2 inches larger, but I find it hard to imagine not being able to bring them together unless you are grossly oversized. Other than than, just pull, stitch, and pull some more. there is a natural gathering of skin down the back of the neck anyway so try not to pull the skin down the neck as you sew. Rather push it up a bit and when you get to the end of the incision, then pull it back behind the back board. Don't use the Mr. Deer Universe on steroids deer forms , but the more natural sized ones.
Some mannikins and poses are tougher to mount on, in these areas. Extreme uprights are tough and so are forms with presculpted ear butts. You might not be getting proper stretch from your tan. Maybe, more information would be helpful, Good Luck
The manniquin is only one inch bigger than the deer around the neck but I found out the eye to nose is a 1/2" bigger as well which was stretching the face out.
If anything, your mannikin should be about 1 1/2 inch SMALLER around the neck than your actual deer. When you get the cape on, your neck measurement will be the same as it was when you got the deer.
