deer antlers look bad

Submitted by art w. on 12/13/2003. ( ) 165.91.47.67

Howdy,

I have a few deer antlers, (white tail, axis, and fallow). They all look pretty bad, either bleached or dirty. I want to get these to look waxed and semi-glossed. Any cheap ways products to do this with?

Thanks,

For Bleached out antlers I use potassium permanganate to re-color them.......I don't like stain or paint. For dirty antlers I use Scotts Liquid Gold from wally world, in the red can to clean em up.

Linseed Oil/Turpentine

It's the most natural of oils and it absorbs extremely well into antlers Gives a soft semi-gloss finish and removes the dust, dirt and grime when you wipe it on. Mix the 50/50, paint on, wipe off.
