Hat's off for the Rompala buck!

I think you jealous wine babys need to give the guy a break! Just because you can't get a deer period, you don't need to put down those that can! My wife & I live in PA and have video taped deer that people said could not possibly be from around here! Hunting is a sport not a competition! Our kids will be hunting in a couple of years and I don't want them seeing a bunch of jealous grown men crying like babbys because of someone getting a bigger deer! You jealous grown men cry more than two year olds! You should just go back to sucking your thumbs and leave Mitch alone! I would back Mitch up 100%! He knows what he doing! Unlike some of you others! God Bless even winers!

Mitch Rompola is a fraud.

Daniel, you just don't get it, do you?

No one ever begrudges anyones success to that point. Did you ever consider that it might be something deeper. You can't live in the shadows and then, just out of the blue, look for adoration in the sunlight. This issue has nothing to do with the fact that A HUNTER took A BIG DEER. It has everything to do witht he tactics, secrecy and shenanigans that he pulled. To me personally, his actions were little different from those yahoos who used a 15 year old boy to gain their claim to fame with the Albia buck. Hunting is much more than killing and when only the killing becomes the headline, then a lot of people are going to look for reasons to despise the hunter. You obviously have a lot of growing up to do. I just hope it happens before your sons do.

Noone has proved Mitch to be a fraud.

For any idiot to say it cannot happen is stupid, to this date none can prove that set of antlers is a fraud altered set.

Anyone can stuble on to a good deer anyway at anytime. It is possible. Have you seen the pictures from Ontario? It is bigger than the Hanson Buck.

Look who paid Mitch to shut up! Milo did not he did not have the money, some overly rich person from Stuttgart Arkansas signed the check, funny how the check signer claims Milos deer ate his product in teh form of a food plot.

Sounds pretty fishy to me.

Aditionally you cannot judge the coloration of a set of antlers from a photograph, I read on a forum where some goof ball outdoor writer claimed all kinds of SH&^ about the colors being changed in another photo.

To many variables if photography, let alone the person printing the picture. All colors can change from minute amounts to huge amounts.

Dont think so, red eyed photos, even look at the same family pictures of your own where a shirt or sweater is several shades different then put it on the clothing.

You kids sound like a bunch of jr. High boys in the locker room with penis envy.

Hey John

Hope that "goofball outdoor writer" you're talking about is not me. I did post on here about coloration of photos in publications and my stance was that "usually" what you see is quite close to what was on the original photo. Doesn't mean, however, the camera wasn't off. I never claimed that the colors were changed however so I'm hoping you meant someone else. Prints, film choice do have an impact on color when you're dealing with everyday photo-processing. But when you're talking about a glossy, full-color pubication you're talking about digital imaging technology that can do just about everything to perfection. It's all computer-generated and if the publication is looking for realism -- which I'm certain Krause Publications was doing -- they're going to have their equipment calibrated as close to life as possible. From there, it's a few simple steps to getting any photo submitted to match what was in real life. The system reads black and white and then, essentially, adjusts from there. And, it's highly unlikely the photos they used of the mount were anything other than slides. The field photo was probably a film shot.

Anyway, hope you weren't addressing me. I was simply trying to shed a little light on today's methods of color-correction when it comes to publications.

NOt you Tony.

Nope its not you! I was reading on another forum, this outdoor writer said "I have proof from the other photos!"

I even just for kicks have copied and pasted that phot, where the right ear hangs down a good bit. Anyway I have super imposed it over several other dead deer picts and they too could now be questioned!

I sent the superimposed picts the the outdoor writer and he has since blocked me and removed my postings from his forum.

Its possible and sadly we may never know the truth. I would like to either way.

Tony, get the story! So we can shut up!

Many of you dont remeber when the hole in the horn buck first surfaced, but there was scandle about it too.

There will always be scandle about a big buck, no mater who kills it.

Here's a funny story . . .

I actually went to Rompola's hometown and waited around to see if I could talk with him. You should have heard all the people's comments who knew him. Not pretty.

Ive basically given up on trying to find out something concrete. It's just not there unless you can lay your hands on that head. Until then, it really doesn't matter what I think because I could be dead right, dead wrong or somewhere in between. And it's useless anyway becuase I doubt we'll ever see it. Too bad really.

Tony email me please.

Tony send me an email, have an idea!

Yahoo's?

This response submitted by Levi on 12/22/2003. ( ) 209.56.125.125

George I really don't know where you come from but when a deer is taken legal and legit we don't call the hunter/hunters YAHOO'S. Do you have youth season where you are from? That's exactly what we have here in Iowa. You take your kid out and go hunting. It just happens that the father had patterened the great buck. I do believe you call that scouting. I know that's what I do when I hunt. Call me crazy

it is real

This response submitted by hunter on 01/08/2004. ( ) 64.12.96.104

I have seen a deer just like it but much smaller where i hunt. The horns straight out and everything. I here here has a map on his floor in a safe room and marks where the deer have been and everything.I dont care what people say about i think it is real and that is the end of it. If they say it is fake by the photos then they don't have real evidence he may be a shady guy but i believe him.His sister has a deer farm in missouri and there is pitures that look like the exact same deer.it says that they were stretching out the rack when it was still in the green.well i hope all this crap stoops soon and people just congratulate him on his deer. When did it start to be a compitition?
