When skinning the feet for a gun rack, do you skin them tubelike or do you cut them down the back.
What am i up against, never done this before?
How will they fit back on the form around the hoofs.
Thanks
Glynn

Look on the backside of the leg and notice that there is a seam of the hair patterns. Cut right down that seam all the way to between the toes. When you get to the toes, be very careful not to cut too deeply as you'll cut the interdigital gland protruding from the other side. Take it all the way down to the knuckles of the hoof. What I consider the best foot mannikins are made by Buckeye as they are more anatomically correct than the other shapeless forms. If you use the Buckeye, the hoof will set right atop the mannikin toe and there will be minimal need for potters clay.
