McKenzie form help?

just starting out and i bought a old form off ebay.its a McKenzie 7874 copy right 1989 i measured it and came up w/ 7 7/8,22 1/2 and 24 inch.does this sound right maybe if some one has an old catalog or if you've used before and remember.want to buy a cape for this and want to get right size.thanks in advance if you can help.travis

The 7000 series was a good idea gone bad for McKenzie. The neck juncture with the jaw was too radical and with late season/Northern tier deer, you ended up with a cut throat appearance. Only by adding clay or foam to contour this juncture could the problem be solved. They did modify later versions, but I THINK they discontinued that series shortly thereafter.

Cut off the head and bring it forward and raise the chin slightly. Better yet, buy a newer one.

i think ill just buy a new one that sounds the easiest,and use this to practice the eyes on.thanks

You can also use it to carve fish bodies or small mammals with, ect.
